Last Stand

ATL Trio Supreeme When last y'all heard me talk to ATL Hip Hop Trio SUPREEME they were talking about releasing a new album on Warner Brothers. That was about a year ago. Since then I caught up with member Tom Cruz at the A3C Hip Hop festival here in Atlanta this October and he informed me that with label problems, they'd be releasing their latest project as a mixtape. Supreeme really is one of the first groups to make moves in Atlanta as part of this newer progressive, alt-urb/Hipster type movement. Their calling it quits in many ways may signal the end of a movement in Atlanta Hip Hop. The Hipster scene has had a nice little run for about 5 years and it seems to be giving birth to a more mature, experimental sound in some cases and in others...more of the same. I'll name names at a later date.

God Bless the Child The music industry is a funny thing and situations can change pretty quickly. Earlier this week Creative Loafing reported that the group is breaking up. Before they leave us and the ATL scene, though, they are indeed dropping one last project: God Bless the Child. Listen to their best work, in my opinion, Church and State
