As promised....

Well, I've finally got rid of my virus issues. I'd like to thank my lustful desires to see Vivica Fox doing the do for keeping me from uploading files for so long. You'd think a Trojan Horse would be an easy thing to be rid of, but *eh*. If you didn't know, a person on a board I frequent posted up a blog link that supposedly caught ms. Fox white handed. It was an opportunity I couldn't pass up, and alas when you lie down with even the finest of bitches, you come up with fleas. May God forgive me. For my penance I've put together this little mix which was a pain to do with a million pop ups inundating my screen (hence the truncated version). It's not my best work, but I'm not a DJ and this IS free. Same rules as always: there is no individual tracking of the mix in order to protect the artists as much as possible, and none of these are full tracks. Enjoy.

I'm not always up on what is going on in the mainstream in terms of urban music- or even other genres for that matter. It's not like I don't like all mainstream music just because it's top 40. Some of that shit is good as hell. I just get tired of hearing the same 20 songs on the radio- and to be honest half of that nonsense is garbage for real. No damn imagination, no skill.




Alot of the D4L and UNK shit today is what Kilo and Bass music was of the past. Jeezy is today's Juve. I used to listen to all that shit when I was a kid. HARD. You think I wasn't up at Stern's Angle, Legends (GEORGIA SOUTHERN!) or the Gate acking a fool to this shit? So I don't hate on that coke rap/street rap shit. Shoot...I still listen to Killer Mike (like every day). ...Lawd knows that as much as I love their music that I don't want to hear no damn MF Doom or Kev Brown in the club. I wanna hear some Mr. Magic 'n shit. Uptempo or swingin' bows music. The club is what that shit is for.

La Bodega Vol. 3 By Dj Mafioso.

While compiling Data for my Taste of NYC blog post, I ran across an email from Dj Mafioso. Out the blue, the brother offers me La Bodega Vol 3 for me to blog. Love is love, and Love is how we do it in the ATL.

Now, I mentioned this mixtape earlier this week- or late last week. Who can remember? The jawn features some of ATL's left of center/true school underground elite as well as select remixes. It's 100% original material and it's fire. My favorite jawns are "Tranquillo" ft Dillon formerly of Intellekt and Dirty Digits and "P.S.A" ft Mafioso and Mustafa.
